Course Duration
Week 1: Introduction to Volleyball
Objective: Familiarize children with the basic concepts and equipment of volleyball.
Content:
Introduction to the volleyball court, net, and ball.
Basic rules of volleyball (e.g., number of players, rotation).
Emphasis on teamwork and communication.
Activities:
Simple ball-handling games (e.g., passing a ball around in a circle).
“Name Game” where each child says their name while passing the ball.
Week 2: Learning to Pass (Bumping)
Objective: Teach the fundamental skill of passing (bumping) the ball.
Content:
Proper stance and hand positioning for passing.
How to absorb the ball’s impact and control the direction of the pass.
Activities:
Passing drills in pairs using soft volleyballs or beach balls.
“Pass and Move” game where children pass the ball and move to a new spot.
Week 3: Introduction to Setting
Objective: Introduce the technique of setting the ball.
Content:
Proper hand positioning and body posture for setting.
How to push the ball upwards with fingertips.
Activities:
Setting drills in pairs, focusing on height and accuracy.
“Set and Catch” game where one child sets the ball, and the other catches.
Week 4: Learning to Serve
Objective: Teach the basic underhand serve.
Content:
Proper stance and hand positioning for an underhand serve.
Focus on making contact with the ball and aiming over the net.
Activities:
Serving drills, aiming for specific targets on the other side of the net.
“Serve and Score” game where children earn points by successfully serving over the net.
Week 5: Introduction to Spiking (Light Hitting)
Objective: Introduce the concept of spiking, with a focus on light hitting.
Content:
Basic footwork and hand positioning for a spike.
Emphasize control over power, aiming for accuracy.
Activities:
Light hitting drills, with instructors tossing the ball for children to hit.
“Hit the Target” game where children aim to hit specific spots on the court.
Week 6: Introduction to Blocking
Objective: Teach the basic technique of blocking.

Proper stance and timing for a block.
Emphasize the importance of jumping and hand positioning.
Activities:
Blocking drills against a soft toss or gentle hit.
“Block the Balloon” game where children practice blocking against a balloon.
Week 7: Basic Game Play and Rotation
Objective: Introduce children to simple game play and the concept of rotation.

How to rotate positions on the court.
Basic game play with simplified rules.

3-on-3 or 4-on-4 mini-games with rotation practice.

Week 8: Review and Fun Tournament
Objective: Reinforce learned skills through a friendly tournament.

Review key skills: passing, setting, serving, hitting, and blocking.
Conduct a fun and inclusive mini-tournament.

Warm-up drills focusing on all learned skills.
